Good indication for an Islamist victory

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful; blessings and peace be upon Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. ****************** Reflection ********************* The Declining Day (Al-'Asr) 1. By the declining day, 2. Lo! Man is in a state of loss, 3. Save those who believe and do good works, and exhort one another to truth and exhort one another to endurance. *********************** During the just concluded Ramadan, I noticed several interesting developments among local Muslims that hopefully would bring for the revival of Islam and opening the road for an Islamist victory. ************** Perhaps international events such as the uprising of the Arabs (Arab Spring) in West Asia and North African countries has brought on an impact on Muslims in Malaysia. ***************** These developments are good indicators for the Islamist’s party, PAS and its allies, KeADILan and DAP on their march to Putrajaya. It might only be a guess; but one thing for sure, Muslims are more devoted to their religion’s obligation. ****************** If during previous Ramadan, attendees in masjid performing the optional mass ‘tarawih’ (after isyak – late evening compulsory) followed the usual trend of devotees filling the masjid at the beginning but declining as the days passed by; but this Ramadan I witnessed masjids had good attendees from the beginning to end. ******************* It was also a breathtaking sight to see devotees filling masjids during the last 10 nights of Ramadan. Even when some masjids held ‘qiyamullail’ (gathering at night for special optional prayers such as ‘tahajjud’, ‘taubat’, ‘hajat’ and ‘tasbih’) on selected nights, attendance was good. ********************* Then during the daily five times compulsory prayers (subuh, zuhur, asar, maghrib and isyak), I noticed congregators filling up to several rows (saf) in the masjid; this is rarely seen during previous Ramadan. ******************** And during ‘solat Aidilfitri’ (optional mass prayer marking the celebration of Eid), masjids were pack to capacity. At some masjids, prayers mats had to be laid on open grounds of the masjid’s compound to fulfill congregators needs. ***************** And as for the women folk, many opted to start wearing tudung in commemoration of Ramadan and the best news is, some choose to stick to the hijab although the holy month is already over. One classic example is a ‘transformation’ of a well known female TV personality. **************** More and more female artises are also wearing the ‘tudung’, some to the extent of declaring openly that they support the Islamic party, others have become members of the party. Even a few have gone to give talks on PAS's platform. *************** Support for the Islamic party from non-Muslims is also overwelming. This Ramadan and Aidilfitri saw non-Muslims in action during PAS’s societical activities such as helping the poor and attending functions such as ‘iftar’ (breaking of the fast) and celebrating Hari Raya. ******************* These developments are good indication that the Islamists would made amends in the coming 13th general election. After being sidelined for almost all time since its existence more than five decades ago, PAS is now in the limelight to create history on its march to Putrajaya. ****************** In Surah Al-Inshirah (Solace), Allah SWT mentioned about relief from anxiety. Translation of the surah; means 1. Have We not caused thy bosom to dilate, 2. And eased thee of the burden. 3. Which weighed down thy back; 4. And exalted thy fame? 5. But lo! With hardship goeth ease; 7. So when thou art relieved, still toil, 8. And strive to please thy Lord. ****************** In Surah An-Nasr, Allah SWT mentioned about triumph: 1. When Allah’s succour and triumph cometh. 2. And thou seest mankind entering the religion of Allah in troops, 3. Then hymn the praises of thy Lord, and seek forgiveness of Him. Lo! He is ever ready to show mercy. ******************* PAS with it allies in Pakatan Rakyat is now on the road to Putrajaya. More and more people are turning back to Islam and practicing its teaching. This situation seemed to create uneasiness to the ruling component parties and their leaders. When the people understand the teachings of Islam, they would turn to the Islamic party as they were confident that there was no separation between Islam and politics. ********************* Before this, an Umno Johor state assemblyman of Kemelah, Ayub Rahmat had gave suggestion that Umno should implemented hudud laws and this created havoc among BN component parties with MCA President, Chua Soi Lek taking the lead in declaring war against the move. ******************** Now even artises realize this aspect (Islam as an only way of life) resulting in some making open declaration of support for PAS's struggle. ******************* Not forgetting also former top government officials such as former Bukit Aman CID chief, Fauzi Shaari also chose PAS and this development caused stir among BN component parties and their leaders. ******************** Even former Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad proposed that PAS worked together with Umno to fulfill its long wish to have hudud laws implemented in the country. Could you believe that this suggestion has come from a leader who once had challenged and belittled hudud laws saying that it was a PAS version of it? *********************** Well, it sound so strange for a leader that is against hudud almost all his life in making that suggestion. It is open to various interpretation; but one could not help; but jump to a conclusion that almost all parties and individuals associated to the Islamic faith are scrambling to prove that they are really true Muslim and are ready to fight for Islam to the end including implementing the Islamic laws. *********************** Of course one could not read what is in the heart of another person but based on recent development globally especially in some Arab countries when Islamist group such as Ikhwanul Muslimin (Muslim Brotherhood) has taken power in Egypt, we can guess that some leaders here in Malaysia are exploitating the revival of Islam among the masses for their political gains. Readers should know better as the general election fever is on – elections must be held in a few month times! ********************** In this world there are three set of people – the believers, the hypocrites and the disbelievers. So who are the believers, hypocrites and disbelievers? In Surah al-Baqarah (The Cow), Allah SWT mentions about these three groups of people. In ayah 2 of the surah, Allah SWT mentioned that the Qur’an is the guidance to mankind; “This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil).” ********************** The believers are only those who have believe in Allah and His Messenger and then they have had no doubt and have strived with their wealth and themselves in the way of Allah. They are the ones who are true to their word. (Qur’an, 49:15) ********************** About the hypocrites, Allah SWT mentions in Qur’an, 2:8-10): Among the people there are some who say, “We believe in Allah and the Last Day,” when they do not believe. They think they deceive Allah and those who believe. They deceive no one but themselves but they are not aware of it. There is a sickness in their hearts and Allah has increased their sickness. They will have a painful punishment on account of their denial. ************************* Regarding the disbelivers, among others Allah SWT mentions in the Qur’an, 7: 179: We created many of the jinn and mankind for Hell. They have hearts they do not understand with. They have eyes they do not see with. They have ears they do hear with. Such people are like cattle. No, they are even further astray! They are unaware. ************************* Based on these three catagories of people, deep inside our hearts, only we knew in which category we fall into – the believer, the hypocrite or the disbeliever!
